There are many factors that come into play when using keywords in your website. Below we will go over several of them.

Keyword Density
When you see or hear the term keyword density, it generally refers to the percentage of keywords contained in the content of a web page.

There are varying opinions on what the optimal keyword density ratio should be, and it varies from search engine to search engine. In general, we use a keyword density ratio in the range of 2-8% for our clients.

Keyword Frequency
Keyword Frequency is how often a keyword appears on the page or in an area on the page. Generally, the more times a keyword appears on the page, the more relevant it will be to that search.

However, you don’t want to go crazy with frequency since most of the major search engines will penalize your site for keyword “spamming” if they feel you are being excessive. In general though, use your keyword in the document in as many different areas as you can, and as many times as is recommended for that engine.

Keyword Prominence
Keyword prominence refers to how prominent you keywords are within a web page. In other words, if they are close to the beginning of your content they would be more prominent than if they were in the middle or at the end.

The general recommendation is to place important keywords at, or near, the start of your web page’s content and in the title or meta tag.

Keyword Proximity
Keyword proximity refers to the distance between keywords as well as phrases that include the keywords without repetition and with contextual relevance.

Keyword proximity measures the closeness between two keywords. Generally, the closer the keywords are, the better.

For Search Engine Optimization, the proximity of the keywords or keywords included in a phrase in relation to each other and one another is of great importance and is the basis of using the appropriate combination of the words in the page titles, headers, paragraphs and page content.

What Is Your USP?

What is a USP? USP stands for Unique Selling Proposition – If you don’t have one then you need to develop one soon. You want this to be something your customers and prospects pick up on easily, especially in email communications.

Your USP is what makes your company, product or service stand out from your competition. It could be providing the best solution to a problem, the best way to fulfill a need or desire or the best way to achieve a goal. It could be that you are the most creative or least expensive (we don’t advocate this), maybe the best in class. Whatever it is, you need to make it clear.

If your Colorado Springs business is like thousands of others throughout the United States, you are looking for a way to bring in more customers, increase the sales frequency of your existing customers and do it more economically than you are now. The questions you should be asking yourself are “Can I use internet marketing effectively in Colorado Springs?” and “Does email marketing work in Colorado Springs?” The answer to both of these questions is a resounding YES!. It doesn’t matter where you live in Colorado or any other state, internet marketing and email marketing work when used correctly.

There are still many businesses in Colorado Springs, Denver and other Colorado communities that have not explored the options available through online and email marketing. Some of the businesses that have explored it have been sold a bill of goods through their website. Many businesses have paid to have a website built and promised that it would bring them more business only to find that it did not increase or create any sales at all. Having a website does not guarantee sales and anyone who tells you that is not being totally honest. In order for your website to create revenue it must have visitors the same as your physical business. If your website is not receiving visitors then it is impossible for it to create revenue, relationships or build a customer list.

Virtual Marketing, LLC is a Colorado based Internet Marketing company that is experienced in all areas of online marketing. You may contact us for a free internet marketing consultation at any time without obligation or pressure.
